Following the official reveal of its first poster, James Wan’s Aquaman is back with a glorious first look at one of its sea creatures.

In Entertainment Weekly‘s pre-SDCC coverage, the magazine debuted a magnificent first look at concept art for a sea dragon in upcoming DC Films adventure, Aquaman. The fantastic new image reveals one of the sea dragons that are used as  primary modes of transportation by the people of Xebel which is one of the second underwater kingdoms of Atlantis. The kingdom is led by King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), and Mera (Amber Heard) is one of the kingdom’s warriors.

Take a look at the pic below.

Everone from the production has kept a hush about whether Jason Momoa’s titular hero gets to rides one of these other than producer Peter Safran who has said “The idea was to turn on its head the idea of Aquaman riding a seahorse, take something for which he was mocked and turn it into something terrifying and impressive. He’s a Xebellian creature but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Arthur on one at some point.”  We can only hope.

Here is the official synopsis

“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.”
