Birds of Prey full cast list revealed ; Chris Messina cast as Victor Zsasz2 min read

Yesterday , Warner Bros. announced the cast list in Birds of Prey, keeping their roles mostly under wraps : Steven Williams (The Chi), Derek Wilson, Dana Lee (Dr. Ken), Francois Chau (The Expanse, The Tick), and Matthew Willig (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) and Chris Messina (
series regular on AMC’s Preacher).

However , Chris Messina is said to be playing the Batman villain Victor Zsasz , a murdering psychopath who craves a mark on his body after every kill ( See ? Killmonger isn’t the only one!). It won’t be rocket science to figure out that Messina’s character will at sometime work under ( or be influenced by) the criminal mastermind Black Mask , played by Ewan McGregor.

A rich man , Victor entered the DC Comics with Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1  in the June of 1992. After his parent’s death , he couldn’t control his depression and lost most of his wealth to Penguin through gambling. Before he could commit suicide , he develops his taste in crime by killing a homeless man. Having a certain a style to his crimes , the character has appeared in Arkham Games and in the FOX TV series Gotham. This will however be his first time silver screen appearance.

DC/WB’s Birds of Prey is set to be directed by Cathy Yun from a screenplay by Christina Hodson , who is also writing for the Batgirl movie. The flick sees Margot Robbie reprise the role of Harley Quinn. She will be joined by two of DC’s superheroes : Huntress played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and
Black Canary played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell. It is also rumored that the movie will feature a young Cassendra Cain. Birds of Prey opens in theaters February 7th , 2020.
