DC Cinematic Universe : No more Batffleck and more !5 min read

DC was not very successful in box office numbers during the days of Batman v Superman where Warner grossed a total of about 103 million inclusive the home release. Some fans refused to believe in it and cooked up odd theories to prove that it was successful. Justice League does provide a tight slap on the face to all its theories after it clearly failed at Box-Office and news keeps coming in on how Warner changed plans after the face-off to the team-up. Now The Variety has declared some more changes are stirring up after the Justice League. Keep reading for the DCEU changes expected to take place.

As honest as it gets , this universe is in some serious misery. If you fail to acknowledge that , you do not care about your heroes if not ignorant about how movies churn profit . Crafted on a 300 M $ budget , the movie was supposed to be DC’s answer to Marvel’s Avengers. However , a watch is enough to say otherwise. I , on a personal level , liked Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition and considered it everything but a part of the larger universe , as in the Dawn of Justice part never worked for me. Surprisingly , never in my dreams , did I thought that the Justice League in itself will be worse. Its , as I mentioned in my review , a set of fan-tribute moments arranged in a farrago of a movie.

Now , the box office numbers were though quite good for a movie. But , it takes a moment to shift the fulcrum from decent to terrible when you put in the constraints “Justice League” and “300 M $ production budget” in the equation. As expected, the performance of Justice League at the box office (current global haul at 573 M $) forced stir up some major changes in the universe moving forward. This changes are not primary in order as Warner has shaken up their plans more often than any other planned franchise universe in the past but an article from The Variety sheds light on some changes which can still bring the boat back on course.

We are considering on the highlights of the article so we will be eyeing on just the potential DCEU changes to come up in the future :

1.“Jon Berg will be leaving his current job running the comic book’s film production division, according to several sources with knowledge of the studio’s plans.” Variety

2.Going forward, Geoff Jonn’s work on the films may evolve, and could be more advisory in nature. – Variety

3.”Emmerich is weighing the idea of further integrating DC’s film operations into the studio’s main movie arm. The DC overhaul is expected to happen by January.” – Variety

4.“There are no immediate plans for Snyder to direct another DC movie, though he is producing or executive producing several, including “Wonder Woman 2” and “Aquaman.” Warner Bros. continues to have a production deal with Snyder, so it’s possible he could direct additional films for the studio.” – Variety

5.“While Ben Affleck is expected to appear as Batman in a standalone Flash movie, it is highly unlikely he will don the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves’ planned standalone Batman movie. The director is said to want to cast the role with fresh talent, according to sources.” -Variety

6.Warner Bros. believes that “Justice League” succeeded in one importantly respect: it effectively introduced Flash (a quippy speedster played by Ezra Miller) and Aquaman (the king of Atlantis, portrayed by Jason Momoa). – Variety

There is however , massive potential in DC Cinematic Universe even after the massive debacle of the league. I can vouch for that being a fan acquainted with the huge DC Comics lore. Zachary Levi and Asher Angel has been casted as Captain Marvel and Billy Batson respectively. The movie is been made under New line Cinemas and may not hold any connective tissues with the bigger universe. The Wonder Woman sequel is being planned during a Cold War period. Margot Robbie has mentioned she is working on a movie which is not a Suicide Squad sequel or a Joker/Harley movie. If they go for a Flash point movie, it is evident that they will be attending the weaker links of the universe to fix/replace them.

So let us know what you hold of the DC Cinematic Universe and what you expect to see it in the near future , in the comments section right below.
