Marvel India has found the voice of the Mad Titan in Bahubali antagonist Rana Daggubati.
Marvel is affectionate of its fans in India .If you are a social follower of Marvel , you should know about that. A few days ago it was revealed that M’Baku cried Hanuman in Black Panther giving a tribute to Indian god , Hanuman. However , the tribute was neglected by the Indian Censor board who doubted that the tribute can hurt sentiments of some people.
Now with the upcoming Marvel Studios epic Avengers : Infinity War , Marvel Studios has brought in Bahubali superstar Rana Daggubagti to voice the Mad Titan. Times of India remarks this as an effort of Disney India towards expanding its localisation in southern India territories.
“I’ve grown up reading Marvel Comics and Marvel movies with their intricately woven storylines. It is fascinating to see how Marvel has created characters and stories that resonate so well with audiences across the globe, making movies at a scale that one had never before imagined,” Rana said in a statement.
Casting a voice actor who is a known cinematic figure in the local industry is a great marketing decision in behalf of Disney India indeed. But ignoring the gravitas of Daggubati’s voice would be a cynical mistake. Disney India has previously invested in cinematic icons to lend their voices and the decision has paid off very well. A nice example would be Jungle Book where almost the entire cast was a star-studded one.
“Characters such as Iron Man and Captain America have been my favorites. So dubbing for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was thrilling. Voicing for Thanos, a villain so powerful that some of the biggest superheroes have a tough time dealing with, was an exciting experience,” added the actor, who has finished dubbing for the movie.
There is a bunch of reasons why Disney and Marvel can now hope to receive unprecedented love for Avengers : Infinity War. The movie is a culmination to a decade of story-telling spanning across 18 movies. Something no one in this world can prevent themselves from being excited upon. Indian Marvel fans has helped Marvel garner 59.2 Cr INR ( 9M USD) with Captain America : Civil War and 76 Cr INR (15M USD) with Avengers.
“This year marks a milestone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it turns 10 and to add to the excitement, we are releasing ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ – the biggest superhero crossover one has ever seen,” Bikram Duggal, Executive Director and Head, Studio Entertainment, Disney India reflected upon the event. “With Rana Daggubati coming on board as the voice of Thanos, we are confident of reaching out to a wider audience base while retaining the magnitude and staying true to the ethos of the Marvel brand.“
Above all this , there is this behemoth love Indians process for Spider-man : 25M $ (Spider-man 3) , 16 M $ (The Amazing Spider-man) and 11M USD (Spider-man : Homecoming) being among the top-earning Hollywood blockbusters of all time.
