‘Masters of the Universe’ still needs a director as David S. Goyer departs1 min read

David S. Goyer has left the project creating an opportunity for Sony to look for a new head.

 

 

Just when things were looking bright for Sony’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe reboot , reports from Variety indicate that David S. Goyer has departed the projected. He was assigned as the director when the studio was impressed with his draft of the project , last fall.

We got some teases of the early concept arts from the project indicating the production to be close , before it was deleted. However , now , reports claim the Batman Begins and Man of Steel co-writer will be letting go of the project , due to his other commitments. 

Masters of the Universe has a release date slated for Dec. 18, 2019. And that puts a clock on the production. Sony is visiting other candidates as they continue to look forward to the previous schedule. However , Goyer will stay involved on “Masters of the Universe” as an executive producer and screenwriter , as Sony plans to continue with his script.
