Black Panther was a huge pride in the comic book community as it had an astounding presence at the Academy Awards yesterday. Having nominated for 6 categories, it won the Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score. This is both a record in the Comic book movie industry as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Also, Marvel and SONY’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse won the title for the best-animated feature. However, Infinity War lost out the race of Best Visual Effects to Damien Chazelle’s First Man.
Overall, 2018 was a very big year for Comic book movies. It has had an astounding presence across both Box Office and Awards, with both Marvel and DC bringing something new to the table. The situation will get only better in 2019.
