Producer Hiram Gracia gives exciting updates about the Black Adam movie ; promises that it’s “definitely happening”3 min read
The DC Films (or whatever you would like to call it) is slowly starting to take pace with Walter Hamada on the head. With movies like Wonder Woman 1984 , Aquaman and Shazam now in different phases of production , it must not be forgotten of the movies on slate. Though most of WB’s future plans has not seen the light of day before , there are projects which are not very likely to get cancelled.
One among them definitely has to be the movie featuring the famous DC antagonist , Black Adam ; to be played by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Collider met up with producer Gracia and derived some really exciting updates from him. “So where we are now with Black Adam is we just got our latest script [from Adam Sztykiel]. We’re doing some revisions on it. We’re extremely excited about it, the studio’s very excited about it.” an excited Hiram Garcia narrated. “And I’m telling you man, as a comic book fan, when this thing comes out, it is going to be amazing (laughs). This is the fanboy in me talking to you, it’s going to deliver on the goods of everything you’d want to see Black Adam do, he’s going to be doing in this film.”
Gracia also explained that Shazam needs to create a space for his own before Black Adam can take the spotlight and for that very reason , they were not crammed into one movie. He also gives us some insight on what we can expect from the character. “He’s got edge to him. Like, he’s not the boy scout superhero, he’s the guy that’s like, okay, you cross him? Well, I rip your head off, and then I move on to the next guy.” And that about the possibility of the film being really made , the producer seemed quite confident. “Black Adam is definitely happening. We’re actually very deep into a script on it right now, which is coming along really well. I’m really excited with the story we’ve crafted.“
Created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, Black Adam first appeared as a one-time villain for the first issue of Fawcett Comics’ The Marvel Family comic book (December 1945).From a corrupted, ancient Egyptian predecessor of Shazam to a corrupted antihero attempting to clear his name and reputation , Adam has featured in some of the crucial DC story lines including Justice League lore. It should thus strike as no surprise as to why fans are anxiously waiting for this project. Let us know if you are one of them in the comments section below and follow us for more superhero updates.
