The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back in the first look photos from Daredevil Season 33 min read
It’s been a long night for Matt Murdock and probably longer for us. But finally he is back from the rubble of the building he and Elektra went in. But this season promises far more trouble than Matt has ever seen before , promises new show head Erik Oleson. “Matt starts the season broken physically, broken emotionally, and broken spiritually. He’s angry at God, he’s angry at the fact that he had risked his life to do God’s work, and he’s questioning whether or not he was a fool.”
That’s a fundamental conflict arising in Mat…but the question is why or for whom ? While the question is not hard to figure out that we know Vincent D’Onofrio’s beautifully flawed Wilson Fisk is coming back to the show , there are possibilities for a lot more things to keep the Man without fear afraid. Entertainment Weekly , who featured the photos ( above and below) confirmed that “when he [Matt Murdock] wakes up in Daredevil season 3, his heightened senses are failing, Elektra’s gone, and he’s presumed dead.” So in a way we are sensing a new way to revive a character who is dead.
“When he realizes that he’s incapable of being Daredevil, he would rather just end it than go forward in his life without abilities. ” said the ex-Arrow director. “He’s decided to set aside his Matt Murdock persona and just be the Devil, to isolate the lighter part of himself.”He seems to be at the end of the road and we all know who should he seek refuge to when he’s lost.
But it doesn’t look like Foggy will be welcome Matt with open arms. Matt’s not revealing that he was alive to his best friend has caused an emotional barrier in Foggy , though we see the two sharing a drink above. As for Fisk , Oleson says he has “gotten smarter, more calculated, and more manipulative“.
Adding to the show this season is Sister Maggie played by Joanne Whalley , a FBI agent Ray played by Jay Ali and a “a psychologically tortured FBI sharpshooter” played by Wilson Bethel. For a long time , Bethel was rumored to be playing the iconic Marvel assassin Bullseye and Oleson’s description of him seem to match the same. The character “teeter towards good or towards evil, depending on who is manipulating or inspiring him.”
