The JOKER Origin Film teases Alan Moore’s THE KILLING JOKE storyline2 min read
The Joker Origin Movie teases something which is common to Alan Moore’s iconic 1988 Batman novel : The Killing Joke
The Joker origin movie looked to move towards a production schedule when it was rumored that Joaquin Phoenix is still interested in the role , but the actor seems surprised when asked about the same.
However , now a new detail from The Wrap indicates towards the Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese production to adapt an iconic story line. “A failed 1980s comedian who becomes the clown prince of crime after bombing with audiences,” the description read for Gotham’s renowned clown.
While the story resonates with Scorsese’s 1982 film, King of Comedy, starring Robert De Niro as a down-on-his-luck stand-up comedian who can’t find work ; a comicbook nerd can’t help but trace the other way back to the DC lore around. Alan Moore’s 1988 Batman novel ” The Killing Joke ” followed a similar plot and saw a helpless poor man been turned to a clown with a dark soul.
The infamous incident happened due to “one bad day” and since , the concept has been used in several pop cultural movies and shows. The novel’s animated adaptation that came out last year failed to live up-to the novel’s name and was slammed for adding sexual tension between Batgirl and the Dark Knight.
