“X Men : Dark Phoenix is more of a drama vs a superhero film”-Tye Sheridan2 min read
Not much is known about X Men: Dark Phoenix. No synopsis, no poster and certainly no trailer. Now Cyclops himself (Tye Sheridan) speaks about what we can except from the movie.
We still do not know much about X Men : Dark Phoenix which is scheduled to hit theaters this October. Earlier this year a batch of photos and cast interview were released through Entertainment Weekly.
Apart from that we only know that it will adapt “The Phoenix Saga” in some capacity for the second time after the dreaded X Men : Last Stand.
Considering the movie will be adapting The Phoenix Saga, fans will generally be expecting a sci-fi action blockbuster. But if Cyclops actor Tye Sheridan’s words are any indication the franchise is going back to its roots.
“Jean goes crazy in the movie. Well, Cyclops doesn’t think she’s going crazy; Cyclops just thinks she’s gotta work some stuff out. It’s interesting, the drama in the movie. We treated this movie as much more of a drama versus a superhero film.” The question that needs to be asked is this the right direction?
While all of the good X Men movies have healthy amount of drama woven in their narrative but X Men : Apocalypse showed that too much melodrama can be harmful.
However we still wait for the trailer to have a clear picture of what this movie is going to be.
